All who knew and loved Bruce must have known his enjoyment for restaurants and the cafe society. Perhaps I should also mention that he disliked greens (the vegetable variety) which he attributed to his Scottish heritage. Instead he had a passion for puds, Mary Berry and the "Great British Bake Off". However, there was a savoury side to Bruce too which made him a dab hand at producing blinis for occasions and an artistic flair for decorating them with colourful edibles. I remember him making a batch for a street party and with his usual generosity he cooked masses which he passed round to all and sundry. A remarkable and kind man. Jenny Beards
